NIH Creates Public Feedback Site: SMRB Recommendations Up First
NIH wants to make it easier for members of the research community and general public to offer comments, and it has created a new Web site to gather input.
Feedback NIH is intended as a place where anyone can find the latest information on planning and development issues. Links on the page allow for visitors to leave comments and constructive feedback, as well as ask questions.
The first two topics involve proposals of NIH’s Scientific Management Review Board. Specifically, NIH is seeking input on the Proposed Institute for Substance Use, Abuse and Addiction, a SMRB recommendation that would integrate relevant research at the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism and other NIH institutes and centers into a single institute. In addition, the SMRB recently recommended that NIH create a National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences.
