The FABBS Foundation is pleased to announce that Robert (Bob) Feldman, Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, will serve as President-Elect beginning in January 2012. Feldman has served as Treasurer for the Federation of Associations in Behavioral & Brain Sciences (FABBS) and the FABBS Foundation for the past four years.
Morton Ann Gernsbacher, FABBS Foundation President, commented: “We are delighted that Bob will be continuing his exemplary service to our sciences by taking the reigns of the FABBS Foundation. Bob has already done so much for both the Foundation and the Federation in his role of Treasurer. I'm certain that his Foundation Presidency will be an opportunity for further growth, both for the organization and the sciences we represent.”
Feldman is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and Association for Psychological Science. His research focuses on how, when and why people are verbally deceptive in their social interactions and the consequences of this deception. Feldman is also interested in the factors that underlie and promote academic success in college students and has published a number of undergraduate textbooks.
