The FABBS Foundation, established in 2004 to support the educational mission of the Federation of Associations in Behavioral and Brain Sciences (FABBS), is entering a new period of growth. In 2011, the FABBS Foundation launched a fundraising campaign to hire a science writer who can assist the organization in building its public outreach strategy. With the generous support of the David and Carol Myers Foundation, SAGE Publications, and numerous other donors, the FABBS Foundation is ready to launch its search.
The new staff member will bring experience in science journalism, communications, and/or public affairs to the organization. The position will involve interacting with a wide range of media and developing story ideas to highlight the sciences of mind, brain, and behavior, drawing upon the expertise of scientists within the member societies of our sister organization, FABBS. With this expansion, the FABBS Foundation will also be able to increase the development and distribution of educational content for its many audiences through the website, social media, and public educational events.
